his month we sat with Julie Pietrzak, PE, Senior Project Manager with Enovate. Julie is an active member of Engineer’s Without Borders (EWB-USA), “Community Engineering Corps” (CEC) program which works formally within the USA with under-served communities in project-based partnerships.
With so many volunteer opportunities available, why EWB-USA?
I’ve always loved to travel, but then I found out about EWB’s fledgling Community Engineering Corps program founded in 2014 which provides pro-bono engineering services to local neighborhoods and found it to be a great fit for me. I get to travel around the 5 boroughs and work through all phases of a construction project from community engagement through closeout.
Enovate is pleased to announce Project Manager, Dana Kfir, has been named to the Engineering News Record (ENR) New York 2019 Top Young Professionals. This year, ENR New York received multiple entries from two states, from which 20 winners were chosen.
Growing up in Netivot, Israel Dana started her professional path when she joined the Israeli Defense Forces’ (IDF) Atidim program and awarded a scholarship for a Civil Engineering B.Sc. prior to mandatory service. She graduated from Technion, a top science and technology university and joined IDF’s Officers’ Academy.

Enovate would like to congratulate Dave Olcott for being voted into the membership of Safety Executives of New York, Inc. (SENY). Founded in 1944, SENY has been active for over 70 years. Membership is limited to the senior safety manager of an organization in the metropolitan New York area, with a limit on the total number of members.
The purpose of SENY is to aid the progress of corporate level safety officers and executives; to advance the theory and practice of occupational safety; to provide a forum for corporate level safety officers and executives to meet and discuss current developments and problems affecting their positions as they relate to management affairs, professional development, and legislation; and to discuss topics of timely and general interest, trends, controls, and procedures as they relate to the safety profession.
As a member, Dave will be joining other Safety Professionals in the NY Region to further the progress of safety professionals and to advance the theory and practice of safety management.
