Radio Island Bridge & Highway Construction

This project was for the construction of a fixed span high rise Radio Island Bridge with a new 3.8 mile highway section of US-70 for the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC DOT). We worked with the Contractor’s engineering team to design a temporary work trestle capable of supporting a 330-ton crane with 75-ton load at maximum radius as well as pile driving templates and other construction engineering items for the project. Working together, the team was able to cut material costs of the trestle in half.
