Enovate Receives Distinguished Engineering Awards For Two Projects

Enovate has received two Distinguished Engineering Awards from the New Jersey Alliance for Action. Projects recognized are the Conrail Crash Wall at Newark Airport and the PSE&G John Street Jack & Bore.

Project 1 - Conrail Crash Wall

The work on the Conrail Crash Wall project involves the construction of a crash wall to provide a structure necessary for the protection of the future AirTrain EWR alignment and operations, that are near Conrail-owned infrastructure. The crash wall will be constructed where AirTrain EWR is within 25 feet of Conrail center line of track. Key project tasks include concrete placement, steel reinforcement detailing and installation, utility relocations and protection design (as needed), site clearing, removals, work zone protection, material delivery and disposal and utility test pits supporting other components of the EWR AirTrain program.

Enovate contributed to the project by developing and executing a comprehensive monitoring plan which included vibration and optical monitoring, weekly reporting and dynamic pile testing. This involved conducting WEAP (Wave Equation Analysis of Piles) to predict pile behavior under hammer impact, PDA (Pile Driving Analyzer) testing to measure driving stresses, energy transfer, and pile integrity during installation, and CAPWAP (Case Pile Wave Analysis Program) analyses to refine pile capacity estimates post-installation.

Project 2 - The PSEG John Street “Jack & Bore”

In October 2023, PSE&G received regulatory approval to extend its Gas System Modernization Program (GSMP II)through 2025, with a $902 million investment to replace at least 400 miles of aging gas pipelines across New Jersey.

As part of this initiative, critical pipeline repairs were undertaken on a gas line located adjacent to NJ Transit tracks in South Amboy, New Jersey. Given the proximity of the work to active rail operations, the safety and stability of the railway infrastructure was top priority. Enovate played a key role by developing a Track Monitoring Plan tailored to the risks and requirements of the site. Throughout the construction, Enovate conducted continuous track monitoring. Weekly reports were generated and submitted to relevant stakeholders, providing timely data analysis, visualizations, and recommendations. This proactive monitoring approach helped mitigate risk, monitor compliance with NJ Transit safety standards and support uninterrupted rail service during the adjacent construction activities.

We are proud and grateful for our team’s dedication to these projects, delivering exemplary service to the client, enhancing the community, and maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety. We look forward to reaching new heights in the work ahead.
