NYCHA TO RELEASE RFEI FOR COMPREHENSIVE MODERNIZATION PROGRAM

Sajid Sheikh, PE, Vice President of Construction Management at Enovate was a part of an ACEC-NY committee that came up with designs and ideas for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Comprehensive Modernization program. The team brainstormed ideas and designs to modernize NYCHA’s outdated buildings. A White Paper was presented to NYCHA back in June 2021.
Recently, NYCHA announced that they intend to issue a Request for Expression of Interest (RFEI) for architectural and engineering firms, general building contractors, design-build firms and teams in early 2022 to obtain statements of interest, qualifications and experience for future NYCHA procurements for several contracts. These contracts will provide comprehensive design and construction services for NYCHA’s Comprehensive Modernization program. This program targets large-scale renovations of NYCHA Developments throughout New York City and many of the projects coming out look to be based on recommendations in the White Paper.
Firms that were part of this study included Enovate, Gannett-Flemming, Thornton Tomasetti, JMT, CHA, Dewberry, H2M, Studio Gang, Cameron, Dagher, and Munoz.
