Non-Acute Covid Alternate Care Facility (ACF) Bergen New Bridge Hospital

project details

The contractor converted the Bergen New Bridge Hospital gymnasium into designated zones to create a 30-bed non-acute COVID Alternate Care Facility (ACF). The facility included a nurse station, medication station, nourishment area, showers, hand-washing stations, toilets, an equipment storage room, soiled linen storage, a soiled utility room, a waste room, biohazard waste storage, a janitor's closet, medical gas storage, clean linen storage and a clean utility room. The ACF supported patient recovery for ambulatory non-acute COVID patients in semi-private bed areas separated by temporary partitions. It functioned as a temporary satellite ward with full clinical support provided by a nearby full-service hospital. The work included the installation and commissioning of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, interior finish repairs and installations, and the evaluation, installation and commissioning of fire protection and communication systems.
