ASHE NY Metro 2024 Small Project of the Year - Queens Midtown Tunnel

Enovate, performing Construction Administration And Inspection Services for QMM-371 “Tunnel Ceiling Cleaning at The Queens Midtown Tunnel” and QMM-372 “Tunnel Preservation at The Queens Midtown Tunnel”, has won the coveted ASHE NY Metro Award for the Small Project of the Year 2023-2024. This esteemed recognition underscores the excellence demonstrated by Enovate, in collaboration with the MTA, Oudaz General Contracting and New York International Builders Corp., in their execution of the Cleaning and Tunnel Preservation project at the Queens Midtown Tunnel—a crucial transportation link connecting Queens and Manhattan.

The project, executed with a commitment to excellence that Enovate is known for, focused on the maintenance and enhancement of the Queens Midtown Tunnel, ensuring its safety and functionality.  The unique challenges posed by the project's location under the East River required strategic planning and innovative solutions, showcasing Enovate's ability to overcome hurdles with professionalism. Together, the team navigated the complexities of managing both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

A key factor contributing to the success of the project was the emphasis on exceptional communication. Enovate prioritized thorough communication, ensuring the safety of workers and commuters throughout the project's duration. Strategic planning played a crucial role, as the alignment of vehicles and sequencing of tunnel entry were coordinated with the QMT Maintenance crew to avoid unnecessary delays and interference with ongoing work.
